The Shrub Oak Post 1080 American Legion has been a staple in the SOAC Baseball program for over 40 years! Headed by baseball lifer General Manager Sonny Graci.  Born in the Bronx, NY Sonny was signed by the St. Louis Browns in 1955 the same year the franchise moved to Baltimore to become the Orioles.  He played a few seasons for the Browns/Orioles as a first basemen and outfielder.  Coach Graci is also an MLB scout for the Kansas City Royals, Atlanta Braves, and Arizona Diamondbacks and has helped countless players play at the collegiate and professional levels. The American Legion has two teams a 19 and under squad and the Junior Legion team consisting of players from all over northern Westchester and Putnam counties.  The coaching staff most of whom are former players for Coach Graci main mission is to teach their players to play the game the right way and to help them become better citizens so they can become successful adults. The 19 and under team is headed by former American Legion player, and Lakeland H.S. graduate Chris Conklin.  Coach Conklin played collegiately at Manhanttanville College.  He is assisted by Lakeland H.S. graduate and former American Legion player Pat Morelli.  Longtime American Legion coach John Marone heads the Junior team with former American Legion players James Houlahan and Matt Tuite.
