For the safety of our kids, all SOAC coaches and assistants 18 and older have been required to perform background checks since approximately 2007.  The checks currently are annual, and only 1 per year is needed.  If the coach or assistant is required by a sport governing body to have the background check done by the governing body, that report will be the one used by SOAC.   The approval/denial of that background will be used moving forward, and the applicant does not need an additional check by the SOAC background company for other sports.   The current list of governing body background reports that are received by SOAC are:  Eastern NY Youth Soccer and USA Lacrosse.  All other applicants will need to perform a background check through the link on the Shruboakac.org website.
